History
During the Espresso civilization's occupation of Erd, they planned to construct a palace along Plateau of the Giant.[1] They also built a hangar (ヒコウマシン置き場 hikō mashin okiba, flight machine storehouse) to contain one of their spinny flying machines, but because most of the funds were spent on the robot projects in Kahve Ruins, they did not commit to manufacturing more flying contraptions.[2] Ultimately, these plans were never carried through, as brownies waged war against the Espressos, the robots wiped them from history.
Magical Starsign
While fleeing Magnus Muzzleflash, the party arrived at the hangar, which was guarded by a number of Space Police troopers. Muzzleflash recklessly dropped bombs on both teams, forcing the troopers to leave while the students evaded his rain of explosives. Upon running out of ammo, Muzzleflash left the scene to reload, giving the students time to investigate the hangar. Suddenly, Mokka declared he was activating his energy systems, preparing to attack a stone giant in the distance. He approached the hangar, to which Pico pushed him over to snap him out of his strange trance. When Sorbet mentioned Mokka's reaction to the hangar door, he promptly unlocked it with ease, to everyone's confusion. Entering the hangar, the group discovered the flight machine inside as the roof opened up, revealing the stone giant traversing the desert below. Lassi used her wild magic to spin the machine's drill-shaped propeller, and the group boarded it to fly over the desert to Uponisbak.
Trivia
- The machine in the hangar has multiple translated names in the English localization. In Japanese, it is known as the "twisting flight machine" (グリグリヒコウマシン guriguri hikō mashin).
