Places of interest
History
The people of Gren were once known to be very peaceful and virtuous, sharing the fruits of Carbonara Jungle to keep from starving.[1] At some point, a certain magician constructed a fountain in the middle of the jungle, combining underground water, wind currents, and the power of earth to control the rain.[2]
Five years before Magical Starsign, the astro pirates invaded Gren amidst Kale's crusade across the Baklava system. The pirates managed to claim the Holy Tree Yggsalad, forcing the resident salamanders to relocate to Salamander Cave, and constructed the town of Assam around it. Moreover, the pirates demanded that the locals hand over any magicians they find, threatening harm upon them of they did not comply. The conflict affected the idealistic values of Gren's people, especially the felins of Tropica Village, whose leader Durum followed the pirates' orders. Unbeknownst to them, Durum was quick to sacrifice magicians because he wanted his daughter Farina, who herself possessed magical abilities, to be safe from harm.
Trivia
- Gren is shown to have one orbiting satellite, which appears to be a moon with a planetary ring.
- There is a division of the Space Police dedicated to supervising Gren known as the Gren Security Patrol (カオピター方面分隊 Kaopitā Hōmen Buntai, Kaopita Sector Unit), which consists of twelve officers and their leader Brie Pourri.
- If the party saves Chai on Puffoon before arriving on Gren, there will be a few dialogue changes.
Nomenclature
Its name likely comes from the color green, though it may also come from gren, meaning "branch" in Danish.
