Trystan is a spirit in the EGGLIA series.
Profile
Origin
Trystan's original name was going to be Nabla (ナブラ, Nabura), named after a glass on the illustrator's work desk. Staff members found it hard to interpret, so his name was changed to Siyou (シヨウ, Shiyō), based on the English phrase, "see you". It also comes from Brownies staff member Shō Kashahara.[1]
The Japanese names of Trystan's runes and subtitles employ some wordplay when read vertically. For example, his assault rune Ideashiisu (イデアシイス, Ideashiisu) and support rune Mamoitema (マモイテマ, Mamoitema) can be combined to create the phrase, "I still love you" (今でも愛しています, ima demo aishite imasu),[2] referencing his relationship with Adrys.
