Purrscilla is a spirit in the EGGLIA series.
Profile
Origin
Purrscilla's Japanese name, Mikael Tanyakanyaka (ミカエル＝タニャカニャカ, Mikaeru Tanyakanyaka), or Mikanyan (ミカニャン, Mikanyan) for short, comes from one the game's 2D graphic designers Mika "Mikanyan" Tanaka, while her design was done by Shinichi Kameoka. Tanaka's real life friendship with Mariko Kuroda, the basis for Sinder, is reflected in their Link Rune pairing.[1]
Purrscilla supposedly carries Kameoka's power, evidenced by her low cost and strong Rune abilities, and became popular among the Brownies staff. She was originally going to be named just Mikael, until Kameoka saw Tanaka's harmony with Kuroda, and decided to add those real life attributes to Purrscilla. In Japanese, her full name is Mikael Tanyakanyaka, and because of this, many more spirits in the game would be based on Brownies staff as a sign of gratitude. According to Kameoka, this decision is a shining example of how game companies are able to do whatever they want with their media.[2]
